Today Congressman Daniel Webster announced the endorsement of the National Rifle Association in his campaign for Florida's 11th Congressional District.

“On behalf of our five million members across the country, the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund is proud to endorse Daniel Webster in the August 30, 2016 primary in the 11th Congressional District. We thank him for his steadfast support of the Second Amendment and his dedication to defending the rights of law-abiding gun owners and sportsmen,” said NRA-PVF Chairman Chris Cox in a statement.

The NRA has endorsed Congressman Webster in every Congressional election since he was first elected in 2010. In 2012, because of Webster’s strong pro-Second Amendment stand, Webster became the target of liberal Michael Bloomberg’s anti-gun super PAC, which spent $1.1 million in an effort to unseat Webster. Webster prevailed in that race and remains a defender of Second Amendment rights in Washington.

“I am firmly committed to protecting our Constitutional right to keep and bear arms and am pleased to receive the endorsement of the NRA,” said Webster.

During his time in the Florida legislature, Congressman Webster was known for his staunch support for Second Amendment rights.

Webster is a small business owner and active member of his church and community. He and his wife Sandy have six children and thirteen grandchildren.
