Congressman Daniel Webster today announced the endorsement of the Florida State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police in the Congressional District 11 race.
“He will continue to serve the citizens as an effective Congressional leader. We believe in his proven dedication to serving his community and is experience gives him an insight to what is needed in our state. We look forward to working with Congressman Webster in Washington and know that he will be a voice of reason for his constituency,” said the statement by the Fraternal Order of Police.
“At this time, when the law enforcement who serve us are under attack, it is vital that we stand up and support them. I am grateful to the Fraternal Order of Police for their endorsement and friendship, and I look forward to continuing to support law enforcement in any way I can,” said Webster.
During his time in Congress, Webster has proven himself a strong supporter of law enforcement, advocating for continued funding for the bulletproof vest program, used by many of Florida’s cities and counties, both through appropriations requests and by cosponsoring H.R. 228, the Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant Act.
Webster is also cosponsor of H.R. 814, the Thin Blue Line Act, to make the killing or attempted killing of a law enforcement officer or first responder an aggravating factor in death penalty determinations.
Webster is a small business owner and active member of his church and community. He and his wife Sandy have six children and thirteen grandchildren.
