Shows Strong Support Across Florida’s 11th District
Minneola, FL - Today, Congressman Daniel Webster (R-Clermont) qualified by petition as a candidate for Congressional District 11. Florida requires 2,298 petitions to qualify as a candidate for United States Congress. 2,383 petitions were verified for Webster.
All 2,383 petitions were verified from Congressional District 11. Petitions were received from every county in the District.
“It is a privilege to serve the people of Florida in U.S. House of Representatives,” said Congressman Webster. “I am honored and humbled to receive the support of Congressional District 11 voters. I look forward to continuing to serve the people of Florida as we work to fix what is broken in Washington.”
This marks the third time Webster has qualified by petition.
First elected to Congress in 2010, Webster brings with him a record of changing how the Florida legislature did business and passing sweeping conservative reforms. Prior to his election to Congress, Webster was the first Republican Speaker of the Florida House in 122 years and later served as Majority leader in the Florida Senate.
Congressional District 11 was created by the Florida Supreme Court in 2015. It includes parts of Lake and Marion, as well as Hernando, Citrus and Sumter counties. Webster has represented more than a quarter of District 11 during his time in Congress.
Webster is a small business owner and active member of his church and community. He has six children and thirteen grandchildren.
